About Rilke –
Pets & Pastimes
Pets
I currently share my home with an old, large poodle (Zoe – which means
full of life), a scruffy dog (Bilbo – because he is brave and short,
with large, hairy feet) and a young tabby cat called Henry (I don't
know why he got that name!).
In Canberra I enjoyed keeping chooks, ducks, guinea fowl, dairy goats and
rabbits. Children can learn much more than responsibility from caring for
animals and mine benefited greatly from these experiences.
Pastimes
Being with friends and family is important to me. We are all pretty busy so
we try to make it quality and special time when we are together.
When it all gets too much, I am re-charged by being in my garden.
I am interested in feng shui, belong to a film club and, as well as good novels, love reading science fiction and some fantasy. I love to cook and experiment with combining ingredients from different cultures.
I like an enormous range of music, but drift towards good blues singers.
I am equally eclectic in my other tastes, embracing as much as possible of
the city in which I live – including festivals, local school fêtes, concerts,
carols, comedy and live performances.
